HOBBIES

WEB GAMES

I ported my game to the Facebook platform. My next goal is to design a game that takes more advantage of the Facebook platform features.
A personal project that I designed, illustrated and programmed, Snow Colony is inspired by the board game Settlers of Catan and the original PC game Civilization. The idea with Snow Colony was to create a civ-type game that could be played in five minutes. I'm really happy with the final results and I think it might be a good candidate for the casual games market as it is a lot different from the 3-match type games that are currently popular, without giving up the casualness that makes the 3-match games so fun.

A personal project, Sundered-Realms is a flash and database-driven role-playing game meant to be played casually in a web browser. Use the username and password above to play the demo. The demo took a year to build and features all my skill sets from database design, flash programming, php programming, to illustration and project management.
The NBA wanted a Flash-based web game based on the real-life 989 Sports Skills Challenge that occured on February 15, 2004.

The game features eight basketball skill challenges the player must complete in the fastest time possible. The game also features a tell-a-friend form so players can challenge their friends to beat their best time.

We had a month to design, draw and build the game. I handled the Flash programming and video prep work. I was also heavily involved in the game design process.
Sony wanted a soccer game to go along with the Stuart Little 2 website. I also created extensive technical documentation for this project.
Dinotopia wanted a memory game for kids to play while visiting the dinotopia website. My code for this game was also later used on a Stuart Little 2 memory game.
This was purely an experiment meant to get myself more familiar with programming complicated javascript, so there aren't meant to be any graphics or pretty interfaces.
This is just a fun tid-bit from my high school years. For my calculus class I had a TI-82 graphing calculator that I decided needed a game for me to play during class. So thanks to the TI-82's programming capabilities, I wrote a graphical poker game I could play. I did in fact finish the game, even with little icons for the spades, hearts, diamonds and clovers. I find it funny how poker is always the first kind of game I try to make on a new programming platform. The sad news is that I loaned my calculator to a neighbor girl and never saw it again.
